Widely known as “The Body”, Brazilian top model Michelle Alves has appeared in numerous fashion shows, advertising campaigns, and magazine covers.
Michelle started her career in 1996 when she participated in the global modeling competition Elite Model Look. Michelle had a desire to conclude her studies in civil engineering, so a short break from modeling was required. At the age of 18, Michelle returned to her career in the spotlight and almost immediately attracted the attention of top fashion photographer Steven Meisel. Meisel cast her for the campaign of Valentino and then two back-to-back editorials for the iconic Italian edition of Vogue. That second editorial landed her on the coveted cover. Being featured on that cover was the same as receiving a stamp of approval and a guarantee of success for young models.
Following her success, Alves was photographed for dozens of magazine covers, including Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, L’Officiel, and French. Her editorial success came hand-in-hand with her appearance in top advertising campaigns and commercials for brands such as Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton, Valentino, Emporio Armani, and more.
The nickname “The Body” came from the press for her always impeccable shape, making her a top choice for renowned swimwear and lingerie jobs. Victoria’s Secret, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Esquire, and more have featured Alves. Voted one of the sexiest models of the industry by AskMen.com, she was cast for the launch of Michael Kors Swimwear two seasons in a row.
From 2006 onwards, Michelle turned her attention to building a family with entertainment manager Guy Oseary, with whom she had four children. While pregnant, Michelle continued to work, revealing her pregnancy on the catwalk and shooting several editorials. In between each child, she remained a fixture on international runways in Europe, walking for fashion houses such as Elie Saab, Armani Prive, Christian Dior, Christian Lacroix, and more.
Michelle resides in Beverly Hills, CA, and makes occasional appearances for special projects and red carpet events.
